Newcastle and Northumbria Friendly

Apologies for the lateness of this- currently bed bound with tonsillitus:( but here is as update from a few weeks ago when we used our Sunday training session slot to welcome Northumbria Korfball club over to have a friendly match and a mixed team match.

We started with a classic Newcastle v Northumbria game. The game started with a lovely long shot from Northumbria, but Ola quickly brought it back to 1-1. Mary then made it 2-1, quickly followed by Amy bleeding for some reason we are still not clear of...

We kept getting the goals in, with goals from Liam and Charlotte and then a classic 'Brendan long shot' took us to 6-1 (he didn't even celebrate).

Then after half time, it was slightly slower, but goals from Fateh, Rebekah and Liam took us to 8-1 at the end of the match!

We then completely mixed up the teams and had another match of 'greens v reds'. I think this benefitted us as a club massively as we get so used to playing with certain people so to mix it up was a great experience.

Then we played 'the numbers game' which basically ended up in chaotic korf for the last 10 minutes of the session. Followed by a trip to the pub in which a few of us may have had a few too many for a Sunday night but it was nice to get to know our local team! We look forward to training with you again Northumbria!
