SKA Cup 2019
Hello! You might get bored of reading about us this week as I've been slacking sorry. On Saturday 16th we travelled up to Glasgow for the Scotland Korfball Association (SKA) Cup. Big thanks to the SKA for having us again, its always a pleasure.
Now I'll be honest, when I saw who we were drawn against it was fairly obvious it was going to be a rough day. The start to the day didn't reassure me too much either as we lost something like 12-4 to a very good Glasgow side. After some fairly stern words next up was Northern Storm, our more familiar friends, and this was a far improved performance especially defensively.
Now who do you want to face when you're trying to build on the previous game? I guarantee your answer was not Mavs! But alas that match happened and we actually fared pretty well all things considered.
So now for the exciting one... Saints and we actually won!! We played very convincingly and scored a bucket load, getting into double figures. Smashed.It.
Small interruption here for Mavs vs Glasgow and I genuinely think the most stressed player on the pitch was Chris reffing.
Finally we ended the day against Ed City in what could have set up an exciting three way tie for 3rd with Ed City and Storm but alas it wasn't to be.
So we ended up finishing the day in 5th which all things considered was not too bad. Everyone is still learning and we definitely improved throughout the day. Plus we got pizza so who are the real winners here.
MVPs for the day go to Rebekah Albiston and Jacob Scase.
Also a massive thanks to Kate for helping out Northern Storm. Hopefully you enjoyed it.
