NEKL: Uni 2 vs Titans

This Sunday saw Uni 2 round off their preparations for BUCS Qualifiers with an incredibly close encounter against Titans. It also saw a return to the team for Harry who successfully avoided the travesty of scoring an own korf in consecutive league games (yes it was a year ago, yes it's been that long, he's a social sec and has hangovers).

The game began and Jenny was off to a flyer bagging a nice early goal that seemed to surprised her more than anyone else. We were by far the better side first half though and began to dominant as the half went on but couldn't quite get the final product and we headed in at half time with the sides even at 3-3.

However, at the start of the second half we really hit our stride establishing a 7-4 lead thanks to goals from Ellis, Jenny, the James' and Matt. Chris was smiling from ear to ear but then some sharp shooting combined with James repeatedly being harassed in attack (One incident was like something out of WWE) drew Titans level with 10 minutes to go.

With just two minutes to go Titans bagged another and we fell to an 8-7 defeat. On another day we would've walked away winners so plenty to be positive about!

Next up is BUCS Qualifiers this Saturday. Uni 2 will be vying for a top four finish to progress to National Plate. In the pool they will face Ed Uni2, Lancaster 2, Leeds 3, Keele, Notts 3 and Liverpool 2.
