Double Trouble Arrives

Hello! Welcome to your preview of the first ever Newcastle Uni Korfball double header. I'll be giving you the latest team news and gossip from inside the squad to keep you up to date and ready to cheer on the Nighthawks.

In what will not only be the first game for Newcastle at the Newcastle Uni Sports Centre but the first double header, Double Trouble , we will be taking on Northumbria followed straight away by Tyneside Titans. You'll be able to find the event through all of the Courier Sport's social media platforms on a live feed, accompanied by live commentary delivered by ... . If you feel like coming down and supporting we will be kicking off at 7pm and its a guaranteed two hours of fast paced action.

Team news next and I'm afraid to say we have some bad news regarding our captain Lottie. Whilst attending the Inter-Areas training camp at the weekend with ex-England coach Dave Buckland she broke her finger pretty badly and will be out for up to 8 weeks which means her season is over. Get well soon Lottie from all of the team! Other then that we have no other major news except stalwart Arturo will not be available but we hope to see him back soon.

Now to give you a bit of perspective to those that aren't regular followers of the NEKA action we have struggled a bit in the league in our debut season. We're still searching for our first win but the current trend in results and the way we've come on so far mean that might all change on Thursday night. Our scoring rates are up, our defence improved and game management a hell of a lot better then it was 6 months ago when Nighthawks were born. Put the lot together and a breakthrough is only just around the corner.

Remember that if you fancy getting involved with korfball to get in touch! We're always on the hunt for new players and regardless of experience there's a place for you.
